Tynemouth

Not sure quite why but not taken my book out of my pocket for a while.  Partly the Football and Rugby seasons have started which have an impact on Saturdays.  However Newcastle (my wife's team) relegated from the Premiership hosted Brentford which was a tie not to miss.  I was determined to sketch in Newcastle - stunning Georgian and contemporary architecture - but somehow missed it. But the next day saw us in Tynemouth Station for its Sunday Market.  It is a fine typical piece of Victorian Seaside Railway Architecture - complete with Preservation Society.  While the family browsed and shopped I sketched.  It was my lucky day as the Book Market is only monthly - and it was on.

The advantage of a book market is that not only are there plenty of subjects but they tend to stand still for a while and in interesting poses.  Except the Orson Wells lookalike who  would have been a stunning subject was a wandering browser.  Had a good chat with the Salvation Army Officer....but had to move and hide as I sensed he knew I was drawing him.

Must find more book markets...really enjoyed it.
