In 2014 I was invited to include Orford Ness (left) in the entrance gallery of the Guardian Witness Awards. Just eight of us selected from The Guardian’s Share Your Art pages.
Like hundreds of non mariners I hear the Shipping Forecast. The BBC’s Zeb Soanes gets to read it and persuaded them to let him as a local from Suffolk to read it looking out over the North Sea. I was inspired to paint it….The Guardian chose it. Triple result. |
